C. Tenille Duncan

Tenille Duncan joined the Rainwater team in 2023 as an Associate Attorney with over a decade of experience in family law.   Her practice of law has been exclusively in the area of contested family law matters.  She has participated as the lead attorney on an untold number of mediations, hearings and trials. She has worked to assist clients to help resolve complex, high-net-worth property disputes, custody disputes and other family law issues. 

Tenille put herself through college and law school while working full time as a family law paralegal.  She graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Houston in 2006 with a BS in Psychology.  She earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2011 and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2012. 

Tenille has a passion for family law and is a strong advocate for her clients.  It is that passion along with a deep level of empathy and care that enables her to help clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives.  She is committed to maintaining a high level of communication with her clients throughout the pendency of their case.  Settlement is always in the forefront of Tenille’s practice; however, she is no stranger to the courtroom and will advocate for her clients throughout the litigation process.   

To give back to the community, Tenille is a frequent speaker at the Advanced Certificate Class in Family Law for Paralegals at the University of Houston-Downtown.  She is able to share her experience both as a former family law paralegal and as a family law attorney. 

In her spare time, Tenille is a hard charging trivia champion.  She loves watching all of the Houston sports teams and spending time with her friends and family.
